Description

This washable wool rug design is an abstract take on the checked African blanket, that is the traditional clothing worn by the Maasai people. A part of our Woolable Africa collection that designer Lorena Canals created after visiting East Africa and getting to know the Maasai tribes firsthand—a unique indigenous culture and an endless source of inspiration. The rug's handcrafted finishes stand out through irregular contours, wavy fringes, and careful attention to detail, and it comes in three different colorways in versatile earthy shades. Each washable wool rug comes packed in a cotton tote bag that can be used for storage and includes a complimentary anti-slip underlay to fit under the rug and keep it in place.

We are very pleased with the construction quality of this rug, and are tentatively excited by the possibility of being able to wash the rug at home or in a laundromat. The feel underfoot is very plush with a nice loft; the dog loves it as much as we do (hence our interest in a washable rug)! We have been wanting a wool rug but were hesitant due to the price of wool rugs as well as the cost of regular professional cleaning.
